Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that Forests should be governed by one Authority

 

"Forestry should be governed by one authority; there should be no ‘distribution of power between different departments treating it on leftovers." Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement, opening the All-Ukrainian Branch Sports Competition of the Forestry Workers organized by the State Foresty Committee of Ukraine on the eve of the Forestry Day.

 

The sports competition takes place in the stadium of Berezne town of Rivne region.  

 

Greeting the forestry workers with the coming holiday, V.Lytvyn stressed that "forest is a place where you can feel comfortable." The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine believes that every citizen of Ukraine should plant at least three trees, so that 20% of the territory is covered by forests. In Polissia region, forests should cover 30% of the area.

 

Greeting the contestants, V.Lytvyn stated that "it is another chance to remind of the importance to preserve forests."  

 

V.Lytvyn will also hold a press conference for mass media, and give interview to the Regional Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and Trek radio station.
